All the newsletters and the forms for induction in the "Who's Who in Combat Hapkido" Lineage Book have been mailed.  If you need more forms you can:
1) Make copies of the ones you received
2) Download them here
3) Get them emailed to you from HQ (send us an email requesting them)
4) Call HQ and we will mail you more

We need everything back by June 30, 2012 to allow enough time for the printer to produce and ship the books in time for our November 11, 2012, 20th Anniversary Event.  So you have four months to complete the package and send it back to HQ.  PLEASE do not procrastinate and wait until the last minute.  Unforeseen delays may cause you to miss the insertion.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call HQ.

GM Pellegrini and his wife, Trina, attended the 12th Action Martial Arts Magazine Hall of Fame weekend in Atlantic City, NJ on January 20/21, 2012.  GM Pellegrini is a celebrity VIP at the event and always conducts a short (45 minutes) clinic on Combat Hapkido.  Several ICHF/ITA Members were inducted and others were in attendance as returning past inductees.  If you are interested in being part of next year's event, contact GM Pellegini at HQ.

Over 75 students, Instructors and Law Enforcement officers gathered at Master Keith English's Tactical Martial Arts Academy in Richmond, VA on Saturday, October 15 to attend GM Pellegrini's Combat Hapkido seminar.  Some highlights:

• Master English took the opportunity of GM Pellegrini's visit to officially present 1st & 2nd Dan Black Belt Certificates to eight of his students.
• A group of six FBI Agents from FBI HQ attended the seminar. Their supervisor made a wonderful presentation to Master English & GM Pellegrini consisting of letters of appreciation, FBI Martial Arts Team shirts and patches.

Because of the great success of this seminar, Master English &  GM Pellegrini have decided to make it a scheduled annual event.

GM Pellegrini and Master Rivas recently conducted a 12-day seminar tour of Europe to promote Combat Hapkido.  The tour featured:

Two  "Double Impact" seminars in Tampere, Finland and adult and children's seminars in Helsinki, Finland.  Additionally, a Military Combatives seminar for the German Airforce at the base, and two "Double Impact" seminars in Munich, Germany.

In between the two locales, GM Pellegrini and Master Rivas spent an R&R day in Austria. They received a nice commendation letter from the Luftwaffe (German Airforce) and GM Pellegrini received a beautiful  plaque from the U.S. Military in Stuttgart (Germany) presented by Instructor Chris Blackwell.

We want to thank the hosts: Master Ari Laine and Timo Rakkolainen in Finland and Master Gregor Huss in Germany for their great hospitality.

On March 19 & 20, 2011, GM Pellegrini attended the World Ki-Do Federation/Hanminjok Hapkido Association World Summit in Fremont, CA.  The Ki-Do has produced an excellent, professional DVD of the event featuring GM In Sun Seo and his sons, Masters Steve & Scott Seo, teaching the two-day seminar.  It is an exciting and informative piece of Martial Arts history that we highly recommend.

We are proud to announce that Frank Pellegrini, son of Combat Hapkido Founder GM Pellegrini, was recently promoted to 1st Dan Black Belt in Combat Hapkido. Frank, who is 14 years old, started studying TaeKwonDo at the age of five.  His training was interrupted several times due to the family's relocation's over the past 10 years. In Arizona since 2006, he switched to Combat Hapkido and was finally able to train steadily and complete his requirements. His certification was presented at the banquet in Denver, Colorado on April 16.

Over 170 students and Instructors attended the 2011 Rocky Mountain Personal Protection Conference held at the DoubleTree Hotel in Denver, Colorado over the weekend of April 16-17.  This was one of the highest attendances ever for an ICHF event (and this in a bad economy!)  Master Steve Materkowski was the host of the event and his team included Instructors Eric Mayes, Bud Brasier (Event Director), Derek Materkowski and Miriam Zoole.  Grandmaster Pellegrini and Masters Gridley and Rivas introduced a seminar format called "Extreme Self Defense" which was "extremely" well received.  GM Pellegrini also conducted a Black Belt only clinic on Hapkido concepts.

An Awards Banquet was also held during Denver Conference on Saturday night.  It was attended by over 90 people and included a celebration of rank promotions for several of the students and Black Belts, as well as other special categories.  GM and Trina Pellegrini were proud to see their 14 year-old son, Frank, receive his First Dan in Combat Hapkido (after nine years of Martial Arts training!!)

This year's Rocky Mountain Personal Protection Conference was also special for another reason.  During the seminars, a silent auction was conducted for Martial Arts memorabilia and collectibles donated by GM P. to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.  The participants responded generously and we raised over $1200!!  Thanks to all of you!! 

About 100 participants convened at the Ramada Inn in Fishkill, NY to attend a Combat Hapkido seminar conducted by Grandmaster Pellegrini and hosted by Bernard and Cristine Tripi.  ICHF Charters representing several Northeastern states joined their New York peers in one of the best events ever held in the area.  Thank you for your support!
